AHA and AEPA announce decision to bring $100,000.00 Futurity to U.S. Nationals

Denver, CO, April 2nd, 2011 – The Arabian Horse Association today announced an agreement with the Arabian English Performance Association to hold the AEPA $100,000.00 English Performance Futurity at US Nationals commencing in 2012. The class will continue with its current format and funding through the AEPA, and will also award AHA National Championship trophies and ribbons.

Commenting on the development, Lance Walters. AHA President, said "We are very pleased to be offering this exciting and innovative class at the US Nationals. The $100,000 payout is the largest offered for any Arabian competition and it is appropriate that it be held at the most prestigious of all Arabian shows, the US Nationals.

AEPA President, Peter Conway, added "This is the perfect venue for the futurity. It offers breeders and trainers an opportunity to highlight their programs with individual performances in the preliminary section, and then proceed to an incredibly exciting National Championship rail class offering $100,000 in prize money.

Dear Stallion Owner,

Thank you for your generous donation to our stallion auction in previous years. Without your help, we would not be able to have such a great program for English horses.

This year we will be offering the AEPA $100,000 futurity class in Scottsdale and the in-hand yearling class (fillies and colts) at the Buckeye. Only AEPA enrolled stallion offspring are eligible to enter.

New this year is an Optional Auxiliary Stallion Breeding donation. Stallion owners may now choose to donate an auxiliary breeding to the AEPA Stallion Service Auction. Auxiliary breedings will be made available only to the buyer of the first breeding. It will be priced at 2/3rds of the selling price of the one at auction. All Stallions that offer an auxiliary breeding will be highlighted in the auction so that bidders are aware that the winner can purchase a second breeding at the discounted priced.

If the second breeding IS purchased, the owner of the stallion is then entitled to nominate their own mare as an “auction breeding.” This entitles the resulting foal to be eligible for the same additional 25% in prize money at the Scottsdale class as a four-year-old that other auction foals are entitled to.

We are including a copy of the stallion breeding auction donation form as well as information on some new and exciting improvements with AEPA!

Thank you once again for your generosity. If you have any questions please feel free to call me.

Sincerely,

Barbara B. Chur
Treasurer
